FAQ
How important are wedding flowers and décor? The right flowers and décor can make your special day truly spectacular. You likely won’t display your favourite wedding picture in anything other than the best available frame and you should think of your wedding flowers and décor as the ‘frame’ for your wedding. Thus; you really should devote particular care to your choice of florist and decorator. Your flowers and décor will prove to be among the most lasting and prominent aspects of your wedding plans. As important as the choice of hall, meal, limo and entertainment may be, none of them will feature as prominently in your wedding photos (and; consequently, your memories) as your flowers and décor. Make sure you get what is best for the two of you at the best possible price. However; don’t settle for less just to save a bit of money. If you do, you’ll be reminded of it every time you look at your wedding photos. You should choose your florist and/or decorator as soon as possible after you have contracted for your wedding banquet facilities, decided on your choice of colours and determined the size and make-up of your wedding party. In order to ensure that every one of their clients receives proper service and full attention to details, Mayflower Displays will only contract for a fixed number of weddings on any given date. The sooner you contract with your chosen florist and/or decorator, the sooner you can plan the details of your wedding and rest confident in the knowledge that an important element of your wedding day is in good hands. In short, it is never too early to contract for your flowers and décor but it may sometimes prove to be too late. How do we know what to budget for our flowers and decor? Before your first interview with the florist/decorator, decide what you would like by way of flowers and décor and how much you wish to spend. Then, simply tell the florist/decorator what you have in mind and what you have budgeted for it. Mayflower Displays will do their best to accommodate you. Our florists/decorators are first and foremost designers with artistic natures who want more than anything to please and impress you. They also take it as a complement to their artistic skills when you later recommend them to your friends and families. So; don’t be afraid to be candid. If your expectations are too great, the florist/designer will tell you and then recommend something within your budget that is as close as possible to your first choice. On the other hand, you may decide to revise your budget once you have a better idea of how much your first choice costs. Remember; your flowers and décor will form an important and obvious part of your wedding photos that you will remember every time you look at them. Is there anything we should bring to the consultation? The more information you can provide your florist/decorator, the better. Having been in business since 1972, Mayflower Displays is familiar with many of the ceremony and reception cites throughout the greater Metropolitan Toronto area. However; if you want church décor, ask the florist/decorator beforehand if you should bring photos of the interior of the church. Swatches from the bride’s and bridesmaids’ dresses are always helpful. In the event that there are to be flowers and/or décor in the church and/or banquet hall, please provide full and proper addresses for both as well as names and phone numbers for contact persons. Can Mayflower Displays help us budget better for our flowers and décor? Definitely. The best florists/decorators have been in business for a long time because they know what they are doing. Mayflower Displays will offer you advice on how to receive the most for your money. It is worth repeating that we want you to be happy with our services and recommend us to others. We can offer flower choices that you may never have considered and design a special décor package just for you. Mayflower Displays’ array of flower arrangements, complete ceremony and hall décor, including chair covers, all combine to provide you with the picture perfect frame for your wedding day.
